"You Turn Me On You Turn Me Wrong..."
Lupen Crook & The Murder Birds @ Metro Club 28/06/06

...sings Lupen Crook.
He's a little boy lost with the devil in his eyes, spitting out shiver making lyrics and spinning them into twisted tales of love, hate and vibrators. And despite the vast majority of people in the Metro this evening seemingly determined to talk VERY LOUDLY through every bands set (why are you people here?!?) Master Crook is not to be put off because he and The Murder Birds have stories to tell and they're going to tell them god damn it.
And thank Chr*sty for that because the dark and delicately demented tunes that they're dealing out are exactly this Fringey's cup of gin.

In between songs, as Lupen addresses the crowd, he seems nervous and shaky, hiding behind his hair but when he begins to sing the darkness descends and the boy becomes a man, eye balling the crowd, leading you into his wonderfully wicked world and making you want to do very bad things, very bad things indeed - hurrah!

Great use of alliteration in the second paragraph there Luce! Keep up the good work.
